Investigation on Shallow Trenched-Hole Film Cooling Effectiveness at Turbine Blade Pressure Side

Abstract Numerical simulations are performed to investigate the effects of shallow trenches on adiabatic film cooling effectiveness ( ηad ) single row pressure side a turbine guide vane, under cascade representative conditions. The mainstream inlet Reynolds number is set as 4×10 5 . A holes located at 30% axial chord length side. Three with different widths w/d =2, 2.5 and 3) but have same depth (0.75d) cylindrical hole compared in current study M = 2.0. results show that trenched-hole significantly suppresses lift-off secondary flow, effectively improves spanwise uniformity coverage. Therefore, conventional (CH), shows significant enhanced performance =2.0. By comparisons, it confirmed w/d=2 more pronounced than trench =3. While =2.5 takes little advantage over =2.
